Using the Forms Designer

The iCM Forms Designer is divided into two main sections.

The central design area displays the pages of your form. You can add new pages, and move through them, using the tabs at the top.

The right hand column is known as the toolbox. It contains the settings for your form and all of the field types that are part of the form family your form is using. You can add fields to your form by dragging them from the toolbox onto your page, and edit existing fields by selecting them and loading them into the toolbox.

Check out the Form Tutorials for guided exercises that will get you up and running and building your first forms.

The Design Area

The design area represents the pages of your form.

The Forms Designer Toolbox

The toolbox contains the form, page and field settings used by your form. It also holds all of the field types you can add to your form.

Field Names and External Types

Every field on your form has a name. Field names must be unique. If your form has an external type definition, the names of its fields are mapped to properties in the type definition.

Form Settings

The following settings control how a form looks and behaves. They apply to the form as a whole.

Page Settings

These settings control the behaviour of individual pages in your form.

Code Overview

The code overview action lets you see all of the JavaScript, HTML and Handlebars code present in a form.

Overriding Default Form Properties

Form Family Overrides let you customise form and field values and settings.
