Metadata Properties

Metadata properties are categories of metadata made up of values. Properties are organised into groups.

Creating and Editing Properties

To create a new property, right-click on an existing group and select "Create a property". To edit an existing property, double-click on it.

Property Properties

PropertyDescription
Property nameThe name used to identify this property in iCM
Search fieldIf a value is entered here, articles and media items that have any of the metadata values of this property related to them will include this search field as an additional property when indexed by the iCM search engine. This additional property will hold the related metadata values.

Parent groupThe parent of this group. Use the "Select" button to choose a new parent

Deleting a Property

To delete a property, right-click on it and select "Delete this property". Deleting a property will delete all of the values within it.

Unlike other iCM content items, metadata properties do not maintain version history. If a property is deleted there is no way to restore it.
