Jobs Template

Page Title and Introductory Text

The article heading appears at the top of the page. It is designed to hold the job title. The introductory text appears immediately beneath it.

Announcement Banner

The announcement will display the text "New", "Closing Soon" or a custom phrase taken from an iCM metadata value using the following logic. If these values aren't set in the subsite configuration, the number of days defaults to seven.

  1. If the article's creation date is within the "New days" number of days set in the subsite configuration (see below), the text "New" will be used in the banner
  2. If the article's display end date is within the "Closing days" number of days set in the subsite configuration (see below), the text "Closing Soon" will be used in the banner
  3. If the article is not considered new or closing soon, custom text can be displayed. In the article extras, pick a metadata value. The metadata value will be used as a CSS class on the banner (eg gi-job__announcement--example) and the description will be output as text in the banner

Apply Links

The links to apply for the role are taken from fields in the article extras.

  • Apply - This link takes you to the website URL entered into the "Link" field
  • Apply by email - This is a mailto: link using the address entered into the "Email" field
  • Call us - This is a tel: link using the number entered into the "Phone" field

The same links are repeated above and below the advert.

Details

The first section of this block displays a combination of article settings and article extra fields:

  • Created - The article create date
  • Closing date - The article display end date
  • Pay - The pay field in the article extras
  • Hours - The hours field in the article extras
  • Reference - The reference field in the article extras

The second section displays metadata values related to the article. Any value can be displayed. These items are designed to categorise the role.

For each related metadata value the property name is output in bold as the category label, followed by the value. Where multiple values from the same property are related to the article, they are separated by the pipe symbol.

For example, in the screenshot below, "Benefits" is a metadata property, and three values from that property have been related to the article. "Vacancy Category", "Salary Rates" and "Service type" each have a single value:

Description

The "Description" heading is not content managed. The actual description of the role is the article body text.

Additional "Miscellaneous" Text Blocks

Up to four additional text blocks can appear beneath the main description ("Job Benefits" and "Locations" in the screenshot at the top of the page). The heading and text of each block are held in the article extras. The text can include any valid HTML markup, including bullet points, numbered lists, links etc. A text block is only output if it includes a heading and text.

The whole section can be toggled on or off using the "Show section - yes/no" field in the article extras.

Contact Details

The first Contact article related to the Job template appears beneath the role. The block displays the contact's:

  • Article heading
  • Address (article extras)
  • Website (article extras)
  • First related image
  • A link to the contact article

The address of the contact can be overridden by including an address in the article extras of the Job template. Note that if any address details are entered, they will replace the whole address of the contact article - it is not possible to override individual lines of the contact's address.

Other Related Assets

Related media items (to download), polls, articles and links appear as per the Default template, positioned as defined by your website theme. Related images and forms are not used.

Custom View

The Job template has a custom view when it appears in search results (if your Search template is set to show custom article views in its article extras).

The custom view includes:

  • The announcement text and CSS class (so results can be styled)
  • The first related image of the contact article related to the job article
  • Article heading
  • Article summary text
  • Pay, hours and closing date (taken from the article extras)
  • All of the related metadata values, in the same way as the main article view
  • A link to apply for the role (if a link has been entered into the article extras - email and phone links are not output)
