There are three types of content that need to be approved - employers, publishers and job adverts. Content needs to be approved when it is first created, and when updates are made.
All approvals are handled using Self Service Articles. The user groups responsible for each type of approval are set in the configuration of the content that needs approving.
Approving Employers and Jobs
Employer and job approvals will appear as tasks in the relevant Self Service task list:

Both types use a similar form. Page 1 displays an overview of the submission, with links to edit content.
The second page has a drop-down field with the option to approve the content or not:

If the content is approved an article will be created or updated. For employer registrations the relevant Employer Organisation Objects and Users and User Groups are also updated.
Content that is rejected is assigned back to the user who submitted it to be updated.
Emails are sent for both approved and rejected content using the relevant Email Templates.
Approving Publishers
Publishers are users who request to be linked to registered companies. As approvals are carried out by staff responsible for the website, not the staff of registered employers, manual checks will need to be made with an employer to verify the users requesting to be linked to them as publishers.
Publisher approvals appear as tasks in Self Service in a similar way to employers and jobs:

The form displays the publisher information with the option to approve or reject:

Approved and rejected publisher applications both notify the user by email. Rejected applications include the reason entered into the form.
Once approved the user is added to the user group linked to the employer.
