All links must be created in a group. The groups a user can see depends upon their user privileges.
Creating and Editing Links
To create a new link, right-click on an existing group and select "Create a link". To edit an existing link, double-click on it.
Link Properties
Each link has the following information associated with it.
| Property | Description |

| Link address | The URL of the link |
| Link text | This text will be displayed on your site where the link is added to an article |
| Link description | A description of the link, displayed within iCM in various menus, lists and search results. This description is generally not used by your website |
| Parent group | The group the link is in. Use the "Select" button to move this link |
| Link status | Either Live, Live (not tested), Missing or Dead. See External Link Testing for a full description of link statuses |
| Test this link | If this box is checked it will be tested by the external link checker. You may want to stop a link being checked if you know it is correct but for some legitimate reason (it's a link to an intranet for example) iCM won't be able to access it during testing so will mark it as dead |
Deleting Links
To delete a link, right-click on it and select "Delete this link".
Deleted links can be restored using Link Version History.
