Make an accessible Table
Go to your existing article and add a table (this is the table option next to the inline option).
A table requires a header so choose where you want your header to be (First Row, First Column, Both). Screen Readers will only be able to successfully read a table if it has headers.
Choose how many Rows and Columns you should have.
If you want to use a caption ensure that the caption describes the topic clearly. This can be either with one word or as a sentence.
•One word e.g. Events
•Sentence: Room Capacity at Council Office
Example table below:
| Council Building A | Standard Office A | Grand Hall | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall Rooms | 23 | 13 | 1 |
| Rooms with a capacity higher than 4 | 10 | 13 | 1 |
| Rooms with a capacity higher than 10 | 2 | 2 | 1 |
