Create and Manage iCM Groups

2. Video - Group membership, privileges and content

Transcript

This third video about iCM users looks at user groups.

iCM groups are a great way to manage user permissions. Rather than assigning privileges and content directly to users, you can assign access to the group, which will be inherited by the group members.

To create a new group open the iCM Groups/Users section of the Management menu.

Right-click on the groups folder and pick "Create a group".

Groups should have a unique name, and you can add a description.

On the Membership tab, add users to the group.

On the privileges tab, pick the permissions members of this group should have. And on the content tab, pick the content users will have access to.

Now, any member of this group will inherit these permissions.

If I edit a user, I can see where their permissions are coming from. This user is a member of this group, and inheriting these privileges.
