Bookings lets you create a range of discounts that can be applied to events, giving fixed or percentage reductions to the price of tickets.
Enabling Discounts
Discounts are enabled globally in the Bookings Configuration.
Once enabled, enabled a discount code input box will automatically appear on the booking forms of events that need to be paid for.
Users can enter a single discount code per booking, and if valid, will see a recalculated price. Percentage discounts are applied to each ticket purchased, fixed discounts are taken from the total price, potentially reducing the booking cost to zero.
Creating Discount Codes
Discount codes are created using the "Maintain discounts" (BOOKANDPAYMAINTAINDISCOUNTS) form. This can be published within iCM using a Form App Shortcut or on a secure staff article.
To create a discount code press the "Create" button. Existing codes can also be edited. Each discount has a case sensitive code, a description, start and end dates, a percentage or fixed discount amount, and can be toggled on or off.
Validation
When a discount code is entered, Bookings checks that the code exists, the discount is active, and that the date of purchase is within the start and end date range. Should any of these checks fail the user will receive a message informing them that the code was invalid.
Applicability
Discounts codes can be applied to any event. It's not possible to restrict them by event type.
