Service

The Service template describes a service offered at a location. It includes opening times, a map and contact details.

Services are often created via your site rather than directly in iCM. See Contributing Services for more information.

Page Title and Body Content

An article using the Service template displays its title and introductory text at the top of the page. Article body content, including inline elements, appears at the bottom of the page beneath the map. All of these elements behave as described for the Default template.

Related Content

The first image related to a service article will appear to the left of the contact details. This is designed to hold the service's logo.

Metadata values related to service articles are used to categorise them in the search. See Event Search for more information.

Address and Contact Details

Address and contact details appear below the introductory text. They are taken from fields in the article extras. All of the elements in this area will reorder themselves to best fit the available space, depending on which details are present.

The three social media icons are not content managed. They are provided with the Service template and will only appear if the full URL (including https protocol) is set in the relevant field.

Opening Hours and Notes

If opening hours are not set for a day, the default text "Closed" appears instead.

Validation is set up in the article extras to ensure that the closing time is after the opening time. However this does mean that the template cannot support a closing time on the following day, for example opening at 22:00 and closing at 1:00.

Additional information can appear beneath the opening hours. These notes are taken from a field in the article extras.

Map

The map will only appear if a location is chosen using the map and location picker in the article extras. The two buttons link to Google's mapping pages and are not content managed.

Service List on the Location Template

If you create articles using the Service template beneath a parent article using the Location template, the location article will automatically display a list of "Services at this location" made up of those child articles.
