The subscriptions product lets users subscribe to topics they are interested in. When you create articles, you can tag them with metadata values which match subscriptions topics. A scheduled end point looks for newly created articles tagged with subscriptions metadata, and sends out emails to subscribers which includes links to those new articles.
Subscriptions can be used whether or not users have an account on the site (and whether or not they are logged in).
Configuration options let you set up subscriptions across multiple subsites, and to restrict the areas of the site that will be considered for new articles. Groups of topics can also be secured so that only logged-in users in certain user groups can subscribe to them.
