Hi I'm Jennifer and today I'm going to be showing you how to access the access errors log in ICM. You may need to check access errors if you find that someone on your team is not able to log into ICM and the best place to do that is within ICM under the access errors log. The log will include the username entered on the login screen, the user's IP address, the date, the sub site they attempted to log into, the reason for the failure, and whether they were using network authentication. So I'm going to show you that right here. In order to get to these logs, you need to go to management logs and then access errors. I also wanted to show you how to search for errors in case you need to do a quick search. So when you go into the year again, make sure you select a date because you can't just select a year. You have to select a day as well and hit update. Then you're going to come to the left where it says search for entries and then click that and then that will renew your entry list so that you can search for those. So I did a couple of attempts to log into my own training environment today so I could show you what this looks like. But here you have the log ID. You can see this was the username that was entered and it says right here it was an invalid username. So that is why it was not successful. It has the IP address, it has the date that I attempted to log in, and it shows that I wasn't trying to log into a sub site and I wasn't using network authentication. Likewise, in this attempt, I entered an incorrect password. So if someone can't get in, you are able to check these access errors to see why they can't get in. This also provides other valuable information because if someone is attempting to log in and they're using multiple variations of usernames or they're getting the password wrong multiple times in a row, this could also be a flag that you might have a security issue going on and someone may be attempting to log into someone else's account. So it's important to where to check these and how to read the information once you enter the log.Transcript for Access Error Logs
