You can restrict access to an article, and the articles that are beneath it, to a group of site users. Anyone trying to access your secure articles will first need to log in.
Securing an Article
- Open the "Site Security" tab of the article editor
- Use the "Select" button to pick the group, or groups, of users who should have access to this article
Users who are not logged in will be prompted to log in when they try and access a secure article. If, once logged in, they are not a member of one of the groups set in the security tab, they will receive a warning message that they are not eligible to view the secure content.
Inherited Security
When an article is secured, all articles beneath it in the article tree are also secured to the same groups.
Securing a site's homepage will secure the entire website to a group of users. You'll need to make sure the site's login article is still accessible to non-logged in users.
You can check if an article is inheriting security settings using the "Show inherited groups" option in the action panel.
