Conversion of Civil Partnership to Marriage

The Civil Partnership Conversion form lets a user book and pay for an appointment to convert their partnership to a marriage. It collects information about the original civil partnership, who will be attending the appointment, whether a ceremony should be booked and if a translator is needed.

The user can pick an available time slot and pay for the appointment.

Details

The first page of the form collects information about the civil partnership, including the date and where it took place. Validation is set so that only partnerships completed in England and Wales can be converted. Validation is also set so that the form can only be completed if both partners are attending the appointment.

If the user indicates they'd like a ceremony for the conversion, they are prompted to contact the registry office. If an interpreter is attending, additional time, set in the appointment configuration, is automatically added.

The second page of the form collects the names, email addresses and telephone numbers of each partner. One email address or phone number must be provided.

Selecting an Appointment

Based upon the configured times for the appointment length and interpreter all users are given the duration of their appointment on this page.

Appointments booked by staff users via the slot booking calendar display the selected calendar, date and time slot at the top of this page. Beneath these details is a list of the next immediately available appointments.

Members of the public using the booking forms will see a list of the next five available appointments, with the option to show more dates. Selecting another date loads all of the available time slots on that day.

Check Your Answers

The final page of the form lets the user check all of their answers and jump back to any page that needs editing.

The cost of the appointment, which needs to be paid before the booking is confirmed, and the cost of the new certificate, which can be paid on the day, is shown.

Customisation

The text of the booking form is set using the Template Manager. In the Registrars application you'll find templates for each of the appointment types. For civil partnership conversions the following can be set.
