Checking Template Requirements

iCM lets an administrator set up template requirements, so that articles can be submitted without appropriate related content.

These template requirements are automatically checked when an article is submitted and whilst working in the Related Content editor.

On Article Submission

When an article is submitted, its related content will be checked against the template's requirements and any problems will be highlighted.

Refer to the Template Definitions section for details on how to configure a template's assets and constraints.

An article may not be submitted to the live site until all the requirements have been satisfied. If the article is part of an approval chain, it can be submitted, but an approver will have to make sure the requirements are met before it can go live.

The results of the requirement check are displayed in a pop-up window. This window provides an edit option alongside each unsatisfied constraint that will take you to the related content section.

Should you wish to check the article against the template requirements prior to save or submission, click on the "Check article against requirements" action in the action panel.

Within the Related Content Editor

As library items are related to an article, the related content editor keeps track of which template requirements have and have not been met, and provides feedback in the form of "Template requirements" elements within the right-hand pane.

Select a template requirement or recommendation from the right-hand pane (below the "Template requirements" element) and use the "Locate" option to expand the "Browse" tab's tree.
