Tables are a useful way to organise content in your article. But be careful about overusing them - tables should definitely not be used for layout purposes and strange things can happen when you view them on a mobile.
Creating a Table
- Press the table icon in the toolbar
- Set the number of columns and rows the table should have
- The width will default to 100%, matching the width of your other text content
- Decide if the first row, first column, or both are headers
Styling a Table
Your site will have styles set for its tables in its CSS file. Right click on your table and choose "Auto Format Table". This will bring up a list of table styles you can use.
Cells
Right click on a cell in a table. From the menu select "Cell" then choose from:
- Insert Cell Before
- Insert Cell After
- Delete Cells
- Merge Cells (when two or more cells have been highlighted)
- Merge Right
- Merge Down
- Split Cell Horizontally
- Split Cell Vertically
- Cell Properties
Rows
Right click on a cell in the row you would like to edit. From the menu select "Row" then choose from:
- Insert Row Before
- Insert Row After
- Delete Rows
Columns
Right click on a cell in the column you would like to edit. From the menu select "Column" then choose from:
- Insert Column Before
