Insert Additional Approvers

While approving content you might want to get the opinion of another user. You can do this by inserting them as an additional approver.

Right-click on an article in the list of articles that are awaiting approval and choose "Insert Approver", this will display a pop-up dialogue box.

Use the "Select" button to select the additional approvers (iCM users and/or groups) to be inserted into the approvals. 

iCM will allow an approver to add any iCM user or group with the "Article Approvals" privilege. This is a one off and only affects this submission. If the approval is rejected or the article is re-submitted, it will revert to the original approval chain.

Additional approvers can be placed immediately before or after the current approval stage:

• Inserting an additional approver before the current stage will move the article onto the inserted approver, allowing them to review it before returning it to the original approver

• If the approver is moved after the current stage, using the "Move down" option, the article will be sent to another approver after the current stage, handing the responsibility of the approval to someone else

Use the "Update" button to apply the change to this approval:

• If the additional approver was placed before the current user, the awaiting approval article will be moved to the inserted approver, allowing them to review it before returning it to the original approver

• If the additional approver was placed after the current user, you will need to right-click the article and select "Approve [creation/modification/deletion] this article" to allow the article to be sent on to the inserted approver
